Marcel Mule was born in Aube Normandy on June 24, 1901. He was one of the greatest French classical saxophonists, and
many pieces were written for him, premiered by him, and he arranged many pieces. As a young child, Marcel Mule studied clarinet
and saxophone with his father. At age twenty-two he became a member of the band of the Garde Republicaine. This band was France's
most elite band at this time period. It was in his thirteen year membership of this band that he began to be known as a soloist
and an ensemble preformer. Mule studied saxophone wiht Francois Combelle, the same man that taught his father.
